Date of Death: September 15, 1957

Christian Emil Burgeson was born April 1, 1862, in Denmark. He was brought to Wisconsin by his parents when he was one year old. Two years later the family moved to Minnesota. On November 19, 1894, he was united in marriage with Mary Johnson who preceded him in death five years ago. Seven children were born to this union. The family lived in Fergus Falls, Amor, and Barnesville, Minnesota, until in 1921 when they moved to Kindred, North Dakota. In 1926 they returned to Minnesota, living in Remer for 17 years. In 1943 they moved to Anoka to be near their son, Lawrence. Since the death of his wife in 1952 he lived in both Minnesota and South Dakota. On Sunday morning, September 15, he slipped quietly to his rest at the Twin Birch Rest Home at Mound, Minnesota, at the age of 95 years.

Christian Burgeson had been a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church since his baptism by Louis Johnson in 1881. His faith and confidence in his God remained firm until the last. Since the death of his wife the resurrection has been the theme of his conversation and the great desire of his heart. He wrote to his children, "I am looking for Christ's coming to establish His kingdom. Shall we meet there is my prayer."

Surviving members of his family include seven children: Jennie (Mrs. William Klinger) of Bemidji, Minnesota; Leonard of Barnesviile, Minnesota; Lawrence of Mound, Minnesota; Rudolph of Pacific Union College, Angwin, California; Lillian, (Mrs. Cyrus Dale) of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ruth, of Walla Walla College, College Place, Washington; and Vernon of Hurley, South Dakota. There are 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Millie Hanson, of Huron, South Dakota; a brother, Julius of Long Prairie, South Dakota, and a number of nieces and nephews.
