It appears that during the mid-1930s there was a time when there was no regular pastor in Bemidji. Various pastors assisted with funerals, conducted evangelistic meetings, served in week of prayer services and provided visiting Sabbath sermons. Some of those serving in these capacities included: David Gulbrandson, V. J. Johns, J. C. Nixon, W. B. Pontynen and E. L. Sheldon.
